Lensbabies? Are they any good?

Lensbaby, anyone have one of those? They look interesting and fun to use for a cheap price.

They are fun, but being a specialty lens have limited use.

The novelty tends to wear off pretty quick for most people, but creatives find more ways to use them.

It's usually not to difficult to sell them once the novelty wears off.

If you're into DIY, it's way cheaper and more flexible than a lensbaby to build something yourself.

all the samples look like OOF, shaky, blurred pictures that would be ripped apart in CC usually on a forum like this. and the "effects" they add could easily be done in photoshop. i never found a reason to get these lenses

Is the lensbabies any good?
Err, well not really.. in fact they are terrible
However that is kinda the point, similar to toy-cameras (holga, diana) which provide useless quality, the lensbaby is used to get.. different results.
And really; you can never achieve exactly the same result in post.

I saw Canon at 45%, Nikon with 30% and Sony with 12%... I haven't seen where Sony has surpassed Nikon though.
