Light Painting

I would love to know wich technique to use to have this kind of light painting photographs

Might I suggest go to You Tube and type in Light Graffiti and you will be amazed

Set you flash to sync with the REAR shutter... its is the menus somewhere... At least it is on my Canon 50D.

I've only done it once, for a friend's family,,, But its really not too difficult. This was my result...

light painting is virtual painting with a light source, while a camera is on long exposure.



go to youtube as suggested above. that's where i learned how.

this was mine and my daughters first attempts..

nothing spectacular.. but it was our first time trying, AND our first day with camera's. we shot these on film, long exposure, and used a small white led, no flash.

Jay, that's what happen when a good ol' spam bot bumps a thread. ;-) It gets dug up from back in September '11.

But anyways, I wanted to say nice effort on the light painting. It looks like you guys had fun! Toledo skyline in the background, I take it?

Just one question, do you remember what was off to the side of the frame on the right? The image would be improved if a slight amount was cropped on the right to get rid of that. Nice shot! :thumbup:

There is nothing on the photo that shows it was done with rear shutter. Personally I do front shutter so I know when the camera starts rolling.
