light stands, umberellas etc

I want to use two flashes with umbrellas. I know I could use a lot of duct tape and stuff and stick it all to a cheap tripod, but id like to get light stands and do it the “real way”

After looking at light stands, umbrellas, things that’s hold an umbrella on the stand and things that hold the flash on the stand, I’m totaly confused. The flashes are both going to be on Nikon TTL cables with hotshoes, so I need something that has a screw the same thread as a tripod to hold the flashes and holds an umbrella and mounts on a lightstand.

are the tops of lightstands threded or are they just like a pin?

The ones that I have are threaded (SP Studio Systems). Came with brackets that hold the umbrella, and bolts with the threads for screwing on the lights or flash. (Sorry can't remember what the "bolts" are called.) The bracket then clamps to the stand holding everything. A complete kit comes with all of the hardware. The stand itself does not have a threaded top. Not sure about other brands, only what I have.
