Has anyone made their own light tent?
I was thinking on the lines of using plastic 1" tubing with 90deg bends for the frame and covering it with white cotton or whatever.
Your suggestions will be much appreciated

I've made one before, but I used regular lightweight paper and 500W halogen floods. It had a minor colour cast though, cotton might well be better. For the frame I used a big cardboard box and for construction used sellotape. It was reasonably effective, but had some funny shadows due to my poor stickytaping.

1" tubing is quite heavy!

I'd try 1/4" (6mm) "kite" struts bowed like a dome tent, with rubber tubing to make the joints. (Take 2 X 4" sections of tube & tie together halfway to make a cross, then trim off the leg of the cross you don't need.)

Straight connections can just be made with the rubber tube. If you want it permanent you can apply a little superglue to the struts before you put them inside the tubing.

Covering can be anything from white nylon sheeting stitched together to white plastic bin bags, superglued to make the joints/shape.

I watched too much Blue Peter!
