Photos NOT OK to edit
Hi, I wonder if anyone has any tips on hot to speed my Lightroom as editing seems to be slower and slower.

My computer isn't new, I've had it for 5 years but neither RAM or CPU max out while using Lightroom.

My comp is:

RAM: 16GB
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 750 Ti

I keep my lightroom installation, lightroom catalog and raw files on a NVMe M.2 SSD drive that is supposed to be faster than traditional SATA drives.

While editing my RAM is usage is above 20% and CPU usage at 45%. I don't use graphics card for editing. I build smart previews that are supposed to speed editing. Yet my lightroom is terribly slow while editing and switching between photos.

Thank you for any help!

I had problems with mine a few months ago. I needed to update my graphics card driver. It works like a charm now.

Thank you. All sorted now. It was actually the cpu cooler that failed. The cpu was overheating and throttling and eventually it started shutting down. I replaced the cpu cooler and it works beautifully now. I added another 16GB Ram as well.
