Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
It looks like a full version of Adobe's Lightroom will be released for the iPad soon with a cost of $100 per year..

I'm curious on how many of you would actually be interested in this?

First... its a 'cloud' subscription. There has been a lot of anger over adobe's subscription system on these forums.

Second... its for the iPad. Lots of iPad hate on these forums.

Third.. its $100 (a year).

I'm just wondering if ANYBODY sees this as a step moving photography forward or as a gimmick

I think it's interesting, but I wouldn't want to do extensive editing on an iPad. Photoshop Express works well enough for me on my iPhone.

Having no USB/SD card slot on the iPad kills it for me as well.

I'll give you my take..

Depending on a few features (how easy is it go get the images into the tablet) i'll find it useful. I already use a tablet in my workflow and having a 'full' version of lightroom will speed things up for me.

As an iOS developer i know that the new iPad Air has the muscle to handle large raw files and iPads IPS screen is probably more color accurate then most peoples monitors. The downside will be the small screen real-estate (
9.7") but im used to zooming around to edit my pictures on my iPad. (there are also rumors of a 13" iPad being released this year.. the iPad 'Pro').

I think the cost is a bit high... for almost the same price you can get photoshop & lightroom for a year ($9.99 a month). It will be interesting to see if that is the actual price or if it will be lower.

I think its nice to see somebody trying to push photography past the age of cables and desktops

That's my concern. I like a big screen and with all the develop panels taking up screen space the image area will be rather small. It would be nice to have the portability, though.
