People can unlike something if they previously liked it - futhermore I think if any liked post gets deleted you lose the like as well (though this might vary depending on if the deleted post is hard deleted from the server or if its just hidden deleted).

Haha. So I was actually unliked?! I wonder why, after like a week this person retracted his likes!?

Whatever. I dig the appreciation, but I'm not going to loose any sleep over the matter.
