Me again.

I'm working on my focus at a low aperture, and also composition. Any C&C on the above, or anything else would be much appreciated.
Thanks!! :)

1- I almost cropped out the tree trunks top right, but debated it adding an extra dimension and left them in there to see what u guys think?

2- I think maybe this one needs a little more contrast?

Ps, all are shot at f1.8 ISO 100 (to 400) vairied SS

C&C per req:

1. Focus looks bang on here. Good exposure and good composition, but I would eliminate the trees upper right as they tend to drag the eye out of the image. Excellent use of the teeter-totter as a leading line!

2. This one could use a LOT more contrast. I would start the conversion process again from square one. It's very mid-tone rich. Focus appears to be on the elbow image left, and the face slightly soft.

3. Nailed it!

4. Good all 'round.

5. About 1/2 stop under-exposed; the focus seems to be in the area of her left (image right) shoulder; for some reason, I can't quite tell if her face is sharp. It seems just ever so slightly soft.

Good, but would benefit from a tighter crop. The child being so centered detracts from the strength of the shot.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Number five seems much better now, but I think you've gone too far the other way with #2; how are you doing your monochrome conversions?

I agree with #2.. I knew you'd say it! one extreme to the other!! :/ Convert to BQ+W then play about with tone curves, recovery, fill light, (using lightroom)
Will have another play about...
