I do skin smoothing on babies when the lights isnt very flattering. The baby's skin is fine, it is just too harsh from the flash. I increased the exposure and applied warming filter.

I still use all the light stands, umbrellas and the backdrop stand but I use different lighting. I have an alien bee and a speedlight. I'm looking to get another AB really soon. But the setup on eBay cost me less than $250 I'm pretty sure. Probably even less but I don't remember.
