Long exposure on a lake HELP

I'm going down to the lake tomorrow to take some pictures at sunset. I want the water to look smooth and I know I do this by using long exposure. I've tried it before, but since the water was not moving the water didn't look smooth. Any way I can get these results I'm looking for?

Wait for a windier day. Or use an ND filter for a much longer exposure.

What Sparky said. Use a tripod + ND filter if it's not windy enough.
