Look for the sap

The sap is running in the maple trees now and I watched this little guy working the underside of the branches looking for his share.

I bet it's a learned behavior from watching Euell Gibbons. That dude would eat and lick just about anything in nature. (or did he learn from them, lol!)

I think I remember him! Wasn't he the pine cone or tree bark guy?

(Not that I think he was wrong. ..most modern medicines have a plant basis.)

Thanks for the comments. I never took the time to really watch them before but this day was different and a great joy to sit and watch.
