Looking for a camera.

Well I guessed this would probably be the best place to get information on cameras. If I went to some shop they would tell me anything I wanted to hear to sell something to me.
Well here we go.
Alright, I will be going to the great barrier reef in two years time. I just need a camera that has a powerful macromode and is able to good into salt water.
I really wanted to take close up shots of coral polyps. They are really really tiny.

Also I am completly new to photography, so I honestly don't know anything about it.

We need more info! Do you want a digital SLR or point-and-shoot? What's your price range?

A company called ewa-marine (ewa-marine: Homepage about ewa-marine underwater camera housings, rain capes and protective sports pouches) makes underwater housings for many cameras. Some are hard cases and some are like heavy-duty plastic baggies. I've used one of the baggie type, and it sealed easily and completely. Just try to get the most of the air out before you seal it or it will try to float!
