So i just got an email back and they are saying everything will be handled by eBay for both of our protection. they say i can get a full refund if i am not happy with it. Any thought? I have never used ebay before, does any of that sound odd to anybody?

You should ask them why they wanted you to email them in the first place if everything was handled through eBay like normal.

It clearly states on the add that a refund is given as "merchandise credit."

Yeah i went back and reloaded the page and the ad is not even there any more. It just seems to good to be true. I think i'll be looking into a refurb from Canon. Thanks everybody.

you learned a good lesson in due diligence today. Always check out the seller before sending your money. You did exactly what i would have, contact them first before bidding.

I would still recommend purchasing motor and lenses seperate. you will almost always save more money.
