How would an SLR with a macro lens improve these pics?

i quite like them actually. Don't see what macro would add as the images are quite sharp and clear. A bit underexposed in some but if that was the effect you were looking for then it worked . My fav is the last one.

I like the upper ones. A tad dark but they capture the quality of workmanship in the parts. Like those huge-ass burrs on the hole in the 3rd shot off to the right.

#6 is a bit dark and low on contrast. But I like all the other ones. Good job .
