Hi all,

so as you can guess, I want to buy a new camera, the current one is Canon EOS 450D with 2 kit lenses and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM, and also have a speedlite 580EX II. So I have my eyes on canon 60D and 7D, but can't decide if the 7D is worth the extra money. I am more focused on macro photography, portraits. Maybe there are some better options than those 2?

Thanks for the tips

The only reason I would say you "need" a 7D over a 60D is if you were doing sports photography due to the higher frame rate, wanted the more rugged body, or if you want 100% viewfinder coverage. You might also look into getting a used Canon 5D Mk 2, although your kit lenses for the 450D won't work with it.

As mentioned, the main advantages of the 7D are speed and durability. I'd go with the 60D and get yourself a ridiculous macro lens with the money you save. Luckily, nice macro lenses often double as nice portrait lenses.
