I have a love/hate relationship with this picture because of the way the sun comes in and creates the rainbow...any advice?

The pink flair on her head bugs me more, might be able to clone that out and try it in B&W - otherwise I think I'd tuck this one away.

My advice, as harsh as you may think it is, would be to press the delete key and move on. I think the flare, rainbow, and overexposure leaves you with not much in terms of a decent shot. Thats my opinion.

I agree. There are much better shots on your flickr page to spend any time trying to polish this turd.

Lol, love how you put that...Do you have any advice on the pictures on my Flickr? They are novice, at best, but I am just starting out. I realize some have been WAY over-edited and look immature, others I'm having issues with overexposure and flat colors...not sure if that's my camera and lens, or what's behind the camera ;)

Do you have any advice on the pictures on my Flickr?

Some are nicer than others.. but you have a lot of shots that are either exactly the same and edited differently (like.. one in color, then the same photo but in black and white). I'd trim your flickr down to about one or two pages, with only the best pictures displayed.

Just my 2 cents

I am feeling a hate relationship myself. Bin it.

I have rescued worse than this with PS Elements 5.0 (I have seen it for Ten dollars and free shipping on eBay)

The terminology may differ in your program but:

Clone out the flares and use the bandaid to blend. Use a small tool size and not large.

Use the magic wand to select the entire background and not the couple. Use a feather of about 5ish to start (and then inverse to select the couple when needed) Use the brightness tool menu to tone down the sky to a level of about minus 7-10ish

Select inverse while keeping the feather and magic wand selection in place to adjust the couple. Do a shadows adjustment on the couple.

Presto! The photo has been rescued and in a 4x6 print no one knows any thing at all. View your workmanship by making it the computer screen background and look for flaws in your editing. Particularly at the edges where the feathering selected may have been the wrong amount. Correct these flaws because many view things on the computer at that size.

ps My rant: The photo s nothing to write home about so why the water mark? If I wanted to steal the photo, getting rid of that water mark is childs play compared to the editing that I describe. I just don't get peoples need to apply of those water marks.

Pure stupidity on my part. I had a friend recently that had a picture taken from her Facebook of her daughter and used in advertising without her permission, so I started watermarking...but you're right, it's not like my photography is high enough quality to worry about it.
