Lytro camera? Focus after the shot? thoughts?

saw this in one of the TPF ads, thought it was interesting.
maybe a little too pricey for me to run and out and try, but I thought it was pretty interesting. Focusing AFTER you take the shot? Thoughts?

Pixmedic, there is a couple of videos that I saw about this camera. It seems really cool, but I'm like you, it's too pricey for me. Kai with Digirev did a video test of it as well.

If you want to try one you could always buy a near-mint one on eBay for about $150 less than new, then resell if you get bored with it.

I think it's been out for about a year, now. The required software has been recently released for Windows.

I think it may have some useful applications, but it's not n my list of "gotta haves."

My friend has one. It's neat and everything but it in itself gets boring after a while.

It kinda does.... its own type of raw so it can hold all the in focus calculations and image settings. Just like any raw its a container with more data than just an image. You won't be able to use it like normal raw files though.
