Hi,
I would like to buy an extension tube.

It doesn't send any information to the camera, but I have an aperture ring on the lens, and I'm not interested in auto focus.

I know I lose metering, but I have a question. Does the light meter work in the camera? Do I need to estimate the shutter speed manually? I mean the light meter which shows the lines in the viewfinder.

Thank you!

Your exposure metering should work fine as long as its TTL. Some extension tubes with some cameras will even autofocus.

It depends on the camera you're using. Some will work, however a lot of cameras factor lens information into their exposure equations, and since these tubes have no contacts, you may not have that information. I would suggest stretching the budget just a little more and going for a set of Kenko tubes which will have the contacts and allow full control of all features.
