Is this considered macro? Just messing around when I first got my camera and my cat is my only model until the weather gets better :)

Wikipedia has the answer!

Macro is usually considered 1:1 or greater.

1:1 means that the object you are photographing is life size on the sensor. A picture of a quarter would nearly fill the frame, for example. (If you have a crop sensor, it would actually not fit entirely within the frame.)

Very good, simple answer.

Of course, no one has questioned if your cat has paws that are 10mm across, in which case this would be macro.

So I'm guessing most of y'all would agree it's just a close-up? lol
