Macro'd eye, just like the rest. C+C?

Started playing around the other day with my hot shoe mounted flash, and this is what I got. Did a little editing for color correction and cropping. What are your opinions on this? Is it crisp in the right places? Color balance alright? Just curious.
*Shot with Canon Powershot SX20IS F/2.8 1/60sec.

It looks like it turned out well, but it really does not do too much for me and the only reason is and it's not your fault but it's because of the color of the eye...like a nice blue and a dark brown would look nice and on the right side it looks kind of yellow, but like I said it's not your fault and I really like the B&W one.

The yellowing is light from the flash illuminating the inside of my eye. It's self-shot btw. I forgot to mention that on the initial post. So I didn't have much choice on eye color, I'm stuck with me Irish eyes.

I think you need to crop in to get the eye as the full frame to really get the detail.

I really like the color version. Kinda wish there was a little bit of fill light for the camera right side. Help get the shadow less noticeable. Just my thoughts. Nice none the less.
