Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So here's what I've done. I'm trying to make a watermark for my images. I have white text overlaying a black layer. What I want to do is make that text transparent so that I can use it as a watermark and it doesn't appear as white on the image.

How do I essentially erase the text so that the text on the black layer is transparent, and not white?

select the layer. Where it says "opacity" at the top of the layers, move that down to what ever opacity works for you... example.. 30%

When I did that, it just disappeared because the black is behind it, on a different layer.

if the black is below it, you will see the text. If the black is above it you won't see it. A watermark will be transparent, how transparent is up to you.

I moved it both above and below. And then when I changed the opacity of the text, it still disappeared.

Select the text layer and then move the opacity to 85%, then 55% then 35%.... if the black layer is below the white (white being the text layer)... the text will be there, it will appear grey and get lighter the lower the opacity. You must just be making it too transparent for you to see.

You can email me you psd and I will look at it when I get off work in about an hour. my email is amandam1983@gmail.com

There could be something wonky going on, but what I told you should work. I've been using photoshop for 10+ years.

Awesome. Thanks. Will do.
