Well,"Great story bro!" Some photographs would be sweet. Until some pics are posted, I can only speculate as to what kind of results were obtained.

Somewhat flat lighting. For scary drama pics, one light/harsh light may serve you better. Even the off camera flash fired from front and below will give it dramatic lighting.

Very noisy.. but I see you are shooting a Sony! I am sure you used the built-in flash.. and they always provide harsh light, but that kind of works for these shots. They are kind of cool, and I am sure you guys had a ton of fun taking them, and that is what really counts! Looks like your friend got into the vampire act pretty well!

I didn't even suspect such, but looking at the pics I think you're right.

OP, get the light offf the camera =)

perhaps google "dramatic lighting techniques" for a start, it'll help the scary pic effects

I like the idea of the last one best, but it looks like you missed the focus slightly there.

I almost always check the Exif... habit! When I forget... it bites me, and I say something stupid (not that I don't say stoopid stuff anyway, right? )

I like the classic Hollywood horror light for shots like this.. makes it campy! And you can even do that with flashlight.. hold it below your face, shining up! lol!

Just get an EXIF viewer for your browser, it's easy that way. ^^
