Memory Card

I have a Nikon D90 and set my image size to large and quality to fine. I am using a empty 2 GB Promaster SD memory card. For some reason, my D90 says that I only have 136 shots remaining with these current settings.

According to the "Memory Card Capacity" section of the data, a 2 GB memory card should be able to store about 271 large JPEG Fine images....



However, on my last camera, the D5000, I would use these exact settings with an empty 2 GB memory card and get nearly 270 shots.

I am confused.... is there some settings i am messing up on my D90? I don't feel as if I am getting the amount of shots out of my memory card that I should be getting. Help is appreciated.
