Memory time

I have always known that photography is for me, more than anything else, a way to capture what I saw and how I felt at signal times.
This is the Schwedagon Pagoda, in Yangon, taken on my first trip to Myanmar in 2005 with a Nikon D70 and an 18-70 lens. I knew this was the most important landmark in the city and I don't know what I was expecting but this huge temple rose in the fog out of a very busy street. Those are all cabs for tourists, private cars were a raity in 2005.

I've never quite gotten over the scale of it.

and the involvement of the people.

Well, I don't think I've ever used this term before, because I hate the way it sounds, ( I also really hate the word cacophony, which now comes to mind because I dislike the word I am about to use) digression over.....(can you digress before you have even begun?)

I am simply awestruck at the juxtaposition in the first shot. Such a glorious, well maintained structure surrounded by buildings that look like they will collapse at any time. Definitely an image that makes you wonder.

Oh, to see such things! Too bad I loathe airports.

I would say that I am looking forward to seeing what you come home with, but I'm still in the process of looking forward to images you already captured, and I'd rathe not get ahead of myself.

thats what caught me too. Place is a total sh1thole but has the great gold structure standing in the middle.
