only camera settings that i can remember are a shutter speed of around 1/4th or a second i think? and no filters since my camera is all digital and i can't put on new lenses or filters or anything.

You must be able to get a high Aperature then! Or was it really really dark out?

the sun was almost down, so it was getting dark, but not completely nighttime yet. i usually use appeture of f2.8....is that a high or low appeture? I think with my digi i can only go between 2.8 and 8.0

You must have used 8 for that. 2.8 is wide open. 8 is almost closed.
