I just got a Minolta 7000i and I cannot find how to replace battery. instructions say on bottom of camera on right hand side there is a compartment that opens with a coin. On my camera in that area there is a rubber pad but no compartment. If I pull rubber pad off, there is no compartment under it. I truly cant see how to replace battery and feel very stupid. I am also wondering if there is an internal lithium battery I need to replace also. I would like to get this camera going. please any ideas?

no this camera doesn't take AAA batteries it takes 6V lithium
and there is no large screw. I can't begin to see how the batteries go in

Here is a pic of the bottom of camera

OK guys I got it you have to remove bottom of camera first with wheel screw, then battery compartment is underneath

That image you have of your camera ... that is not the original battery door ... looks like your 7000i has been modified.

This is the original battery door to hold a 2CR5 battery
