Mom Can We Keep Him???

I expected Miss Emily to be the first to bring a fur baby to me and ask "Can we keep him??" but alas I was wrong!
Look who Gabby brought home this morning...

She is watching over it while it sleeps now. I looked for a Momma but there doesn't seem to be one nearby uh oh ...

Cool! They are neat animals! Just be careful.... I have no idea what your local wildlife laws are, but make sure they can't fine you if you decide to keep it. Might want to do a vet visit too..

Thanks Charlie, as cute as he is I'm not sure I want to try to raise him (although Gabby might have different ideas on the subject lol) going to do some research etc... And go from there. We had a pet raccoon at the cottage when we were young and everyone was heartbroken when he had to find a new home.

I'm pretty sure this one visited often with its Mom at night to raid the bird feeders.

Well Gabby hung out with him for a while. He cuddled up and went to sleep for a bit then crawled into the shade in the garden. Gabby held out in the heat and sun for a bit then gave in to the heat and went inside. After about an hour nap in the garden the little guy wandered off to the river.
Thank goodness! I wasn't really prepared to figure out what to do with him, perhaps he will just be a frequent visitor and that's ok by me

Here is one of the first shots I got. Miss Gabby just wandered around the corner with him following along behind. I ran inside to grab the camera and they were checking each other out.

Lol Jw, yes, that thought definitely crossed my mind. This guy has been acclimated to us pretty much since he was born, he "hides" behind the deck posts going by the "I can't see you so you can't see me theory" lol
I suppose it is still a possibility but I'm a little less inclined to think he's infected since he is so acclimated to us and the pets.

They carry pathogenic bacteria etc. Therefore staying away from raccoons is a good idea. You do not know what your dog will catch from him.

lol awwww... i had a friend who had a pet raccoon named rocky. he was german shepherd smart and had the personality of a lab. great pet but could not get him around junk food or beer. Seriously he liked to get drunk lol

We had one as a kid. They're horrifically messy, but they make really cool pets. It's illegal to keep one here now without a special permit.
I'd definitely have it vetted.
