Monitor Calibration...i can has yur imput?

Huh. Who woulda thunk that online forums can calibrate monitors? ;)

So what are you doing to make these changes?

I am using the xrite eye-one calibration thing.

It meters and you make changes to your monitor, then it saves a monitor profile.

It's a little frustrating.

I still have a pink color cast. It's most apparent on a black and white image. Grrrr...

I couldn't see the green until I saw the third, "newest" rendition which made it obvious. I'm now very interested in monitor calibration. That's a hell of a difference.

The first new had a faint green tinge on mine but not too bad, the newest is brilliant. Just another reason to calibrate like once every couple months. Maybe more hey.

I may be not understanding the difference between a color cast and white balance but since Bitter knows that his background was pure white (based on the previous thread) couldn't he have set the WB to the background paper and the color cast would have gone away?

Last one (newest) looks real good here bitter. I pasted it in to a document and it literally melted away in front of my eyes.

I want to see what it looks like at home. I feel your pain. I have frustration at home X2 because I have different monitors set up as a dual monitor system. I am always fighting with them lol.

As long as they match my printers output I stay happy.

The problem was, first, that the monitor was way too bright. So what looked white to me, was gray to everyone else. After calibration the first time, I started getting the color cast. What looked white here, was green on the old monitor. Is that a better explanation?

downsides to being paritally colorblind and wantint go get into photography lol. i see lighter and darker shades of white and grey, no colors whatsoever. guess maybe i need to look into having my moniter calibrated.

Actually I see the teal/greenish tint is the same as the background of the forum on my monitor. I didnt realize until the your newest try that it is actually whiter than the forum's white. I used to compare whites to the forum, well that'll change now.
