Moody beach shots-too grainy?

Hey guys I'm divided on these, they were taken in color and I played with them in Photoshop until they looked like this using the channel mixer and some other adjustments I don't remember. I like the effect, just trying to figure out if the resulting grain helps or hurts the images. Also, if you have any other suggestions please feel free to post away I've been told that the clouds in the first shot need to either be accentuated or lost completely. Have any thoughts on that?

It's certainly not too grainy. I really like the feel of the first two. The high contrast really works well there. The third seems a bit too gray overall, though.

Thanks for your comments. I know what you mean about the grayness, that is one problem I always have with black and white stuff...I rarely see any black or white
