They are the best! I plan on adopting for the rest of my life. I've had 2 so far, and they've both been wonderful dogs. It's a shame so many of them are put down each year because they can't find a home It breaks my heart. Sorry to hijack your thread, btw.

It is a shame that they are still so dispensable, the retired racer adoption movement has come so far since I was first introduced to them though. So many tracks permanently closed, and so many great groups. When I had my first people were constantly stopping me to ask what kind of dog he was, and get the whole story, and asking so so many questions. We were always the only Greyhound in the neighborhood...now everybody seems to know all about Greyhounds.
So...good things are happening
