U should have at least done some PP on them

tint? what tint? You will lose about 2 fstops of light with a CPL, but i would think the meter would take that into consideration. Then you need to allow for exposing the snow, so I am not sure how much PP would work with jpeg's that are so seriously underexposed.

Yes thats what i mean, the filter is clearly darker then clear... i use the work "tint"cause it best described what i saw. I only found out about losing 1.5 f-stop when i got home.

I litterially left the camera shop and started shooting... i was way to excited about having new gear noobed it. howed this is only my 1st day in full manual and 5 day with a dslr.

1st day in full manual...

That explains the underexposure. In an auto mode, it would have detected this, and adjusted. Manual mode, you need to do the work yourself. You either didn't read your meter correctly, or were just so excited, you just started shooting without checking your setting. Easy to do in manual mode, that's for sure.

Huh, i didnt realize what the meter was trying to tell me till just now. Cause i was in manual, it was saying "too dark" when it was flashing by the -2 end.

Hey thanks guys. Allot!

I <3 TPF!!!!

Can't wait till tomorrow to start shooting again! This time in raw and closer to the right exposure.

Thanks again!

Well, congrats on going all manual and on testing the polarizer! All big steps towards getting to know your camera and your entire hobby better and better.
The light situation I can see in these, however, tells me that there was no good use for a polarizer, at all, other than testing it. But you cannot have got much of its effect with this diffuse light. Did you SEE any of its effect through your viewfinder when you turned it?
I'm asking because I must have tested my very first in unfortunate light situations, too, as I couldn't verify what my sister had told me about using a polarizer at all. She had said: "Just turn it and you will SEE its effect" and I saw NOTHING.
Later, in the right light, with the sun at the perfect 90 degrees, and some nice clouds in the sky, I did see the effect! Wow, I thought...

ah, manual metering.

LoFoto also makes a very good point , you have to control the filter, not the other way around.

PP is not the same as RAW.
Forget RAW RAW vs JPG

Unless you have to or want to. Arizona Highways Magazine

I PP'ed the one shot to rescue it. All I did was do a remove color cast (Elements 5.0) to get the blue tint off the snow.

Did a shadows/highlight to brighten it and then sharpen it.

I'd link it here but OP said not OK to edit.

Feel free, and thank you

Looks like someone posted a link if I had just read further through the page. :P
