Yes, I like the matte finish too.

I probably lost it more because of the lighting from under the table. As mentioned, this is a work in process not meant to be a final product.

I have grids to us but didn't use them on these shots. I'll watch the stuff you linked and plan to try again.

My next one will be without the foam core on the sides of the bottle.

10 deg grids will really pinpoint light. Studio lighting is nothing more than adding/subtracting light. I always found the less spill to content with.
