Hello people photography people! Long time no see
This is a shot I took of Mr Rabbit yesterday when we were having a chat. I really haven't shot many people, I tend to like furry and feathery subjects better but I would love to improve so any and all suggestions are very welcome!
This isn't a setup shot, lets call it a candid natural light shot Eventually I do want to learn lighting techniques etc but here I would like to focus on getting more candid shots without setup.

He was sitting on a red ATV so his face was pretty red from the reflection, I adjusted the red channel to get rid of it.

I call it an informal portrait. Candid would be where the subject has little or no awareness of the picture being taken.

I can't get any EXIF data, but it looks like there was no fill flash. I think some fill might have made this better.

Also, I'm not quite understanding the off-center position, given there is no apparent reason.

I agree that a little fill would have helped, but I don't see any issue with the slight off-centre composition.

Fill light wouldn't have solved a couple of the problems, namely that there are many places that are just plain brighter than his face and thus draw the eye.
Dulling those would help a bunch.

I love the pairing of the tuxedo shirt with the camo hat and sunglasses. Now that's a style statement! Makes him look like a fun-loving guy.

Thanks Designer, that is a much better description of the "style" The reason I didn't crop in so close is I like the angle of the shoulder..

Haha! I know right!?! He comes downstairs with it on the other day, I look at him like wtf? he says I haven't worn it in over 20 years so I thought it was time! lol He now wears it outside as a "work shirt"
