My eye is drawn to the blurry mushroom in the front, shame it is not in focus. Seems you had the focus point on the bark in the back and not on the front mushroom.
Other comment is the framing where you cut the mushroom on the left side.

I do like the black and white tones though.

Did you eat some other type of mushrooms before taking this picture? The image is way too out of focus to keep attention, the only thing in focus is the slight sliver of bark on the left side of the image. Had it been in focus, I still think it would have needed more contrast to work as a good B&W image.

The first thing I saw in the shot was the underside of the mushroom on top and then goes down.
Did crop this picture some and the original have a bit more of the tree and you see all the upper mushroom.
But found this to work better.


I have added tons of contrast and more then I usually would before the picture looks unreal.
Felt that the bark still work with heavy contrast but more would problaly not work in my eyes.


Thanks for the feeback you guys, hones ones are the best but much comes also down to tast ofcourse.
