Half Belgian? He's gorgeous!

Wow...I'm getting a gorgeous half-draft (clydesdale x paint) mare this summer. My mom has her; she had both sire and dam and it was an "oops" baby...because when you put a stud in with a mare, there's NO chance of getting a baby :eyeroll: But yeah; Zena is a gorgeous little girl but would never win a contest; she has a roman nose, a narrow chest. But I think she's gorgeous anyway. ^.^

well post up some pics and when you do let me know.. i think they are beautiful too,,

you look great on Zena... lots of luck to you both.. and never say never about a show... what she can do in performance far outweighs her looks...
here is a better pic of joey.. he enjoyed a nice bath.

The pic I have as my avatar is Benny...we took him in from the neighbor who couldn't afford to feed all his animals. That's how we got Blue and another horse. Just goes to show you that lying doesn't work well amongst honest folks. (He said he had papers for them, but never brought them. So when the brand inspector came out, we got Blue (who was already bought and paid for) and Lightning (a beautiful black/white paint) because no papers were given). ^.^

This is Zena as a youngster. The pic and quality aren't great; but it's still her! She's a big baby!

And this one is my fat Pokey. He's got to be about 11 or so now. This horse and I have been to hell and back together. I'm really glad to be getting him (finally!) this summer!

oh now i understand.... Pokey is gorgeous... and so were all of them... i can tell you are a very happy kind hearted horse person..

Oh ya...I love my horses. I've had them since I was 13. My mom tended to pick up the down-and-outs. Zena was an "oops" baby who was born wtih her extensors not working, so she was walking on her knees. Our local vet said she would never walk and that she may as well be put down. My mom trailered Zena to Minnesota to the horse vet and they're like "well, shoot...put splints on her and she'll be fine." So Zena is doing pretty darn good for a horse who will never walk!

We've had Pokey since he was about 6 months old. I did most of his training myself, and he's my boy. We have had so many horses that we've fixed up and re-sold to good homes.

So nice to hear that you and mom open your hearts and wallets and expertise to help save some of these precious animals.. keep up the good work..

If I had more money, I'd bring in more here in CO. My neighbor is a horse trader and doesn't really care about his animals. I brought one over for a "test drive" and his feet were so bad I had the farrier come out before I tried him out. Only after time and money were invested did I realize the horse was nearly blind in one eye and not going to be safe for my boyfriend to ride. :( But he was certainly a good looking horse; and apparently he's made the neighbor a nice roping horse.
