My counters to low...

I just started a web site and my counter is to low. Please check me out. How is the best way to promote a site to get more hits?

Hi Greg

Welcome. Like the site, the best way to get more hits is simply word of mouth and advising friends to e-mail on your site address. Also post in a few different forums and like me, keep it fresh. I update with completely new photos every month. Example, today in about 20 minutes time, although I photographed Dublin (Ireland) for 12 years, it's my mission to get 100 brand new shots that I never put up before. On another note, make the images a little bigger, up to 500 pixel width is fine because even if someone right clicks, they wont get a good copy worth printing.

also submit to as many relevant directories as possible and look to do relevant link exchanges with other photographers.

Thanks, The only other problem is the accuracy of counters. Were I am registered hea one count, and another one I registered at says something else. It makes me wonder if any of the counter services are accurate.

try this one http://www.webcounter.com.au I find it picks up pages on my site that a different one didn't. definitely worth trying.

tip: it takes more time than you expect it to.
