A few images I took of my daughter for her 2nd Birthday. C.C. is welcomed!

Kind of small images... hard to see (for my old eyes anyway).

But I quite like the red one...

However, perhaps consider a re-crop so she isn't in the center of the frame...

For example,

Thanks for the advice! I tried to make them small so I wouldn't take up too much space haha. I dont know exactly what is allowed on here yet!

I agree that some tighter crops would probably help. A lot of wasted space in 1 and 3. With some cropping you may have some real winners!

gah, I have to get my eyes checked so take this with a grain of salt. But they all seem a little soft for me?
and I like bright edits so the 2nd ones I'd brighten it up some more, it looks a tad under exposed?
Did you add Vignetting? or did you brighten her up and mask the background, something seems off there.
Cute pictures, if you can reshoot I would try again but only if others see the focus issue I see... I am making an eye appointment today.

I really do like the idea of this shoot, however the girl's face is too soft on both 1 & 3.

I think the location is a bit distracting for a 2 yr old photo shoot. Is there a story behind it? I mean, like, she likes trains? She is really adorable and I love her dress!

On number one it looks like the focus fell slightly behind her on the screws? It's just a little soft though, I would def keep it and print it for yourself!

Number two is soft, too. It looks like the focus fell on her shirt rather than her eyes. What was the aperture? Looks like the DOF was really slim, like it caught her right hand, but not her face. Sometimes I don't mind a limb chop, but this one, really bothers me. Is it a straight out of the camera crop or could you pull back some?

Number 3 is the one where I find the background most distracting, even the ground is (to me). I find that awful cause the focus looks pretty spot on on this one! I wish she were smiling more, but I know how 2 year olds are with one of my own! Vignette is a little strong.

With all this being said, I have to say that if you did this with no one else there I totally feel for you. I have a 2 year old boy that I've not ventured to shoot cause I know I won't be able to "tame" him AND photograph him! I sure wouldn't be able to at a train station/track! I'd say overall they're keepers, especially for you. I might try a lil more on the bgs to tone them down, but in my house they'd be wall-worthy. :)

She loves "choo choos" so we picked this location, and Ni Hao Kia Lan is the theme of her party which is what she is wearing and her favorite song from there is "chugga chugga chugga choo choo" So the location was deliberate.

The aperture on this one was a 2.8, I am still very much trying to learn how to mess with that.. It confuses me so much! I try to blurr the bg and just get a blurred face. No one has yet to teach it to me so that I understand completely.
#2 IS straight out of the camera crop, I dont like the limb cutting too much either... but it was an adorable picture of her smile so I wanted to keep it. Wish I could pull it back!

#3 I turned up the aperture.. and the background gets distracting... I AGREE! Once again, no idea how to use it... Sigh. I'm learning.

Thanks for everything I just started doing this back in May (been doing pics since 2000 but not as a job) I actually just found out what RAW was last year! I had been shooting in Jpeg before that!

Please keep the comments coming and feel free to teach me ANYTHING about aperture! LOL
