This is my daughter at her first game this season.

What a cutie!!
This shot feels a little uncomfortable to me because of the empty space behind her. I would still use the RoT but place her in the right side of the shot. I also can't tell if you nailed the focus. The face looks a little soft. Keep shooting!!!

C&C per req: Not a bad image; as mentioned the empty space image right is a bit of a detractor. I would consider adding some to the left side, and cropping most of the right off. I would also suggest a little more tweaking on your monochrome conversion. It's very mid-tone rich and lacks any distinct black/white.

Thanks for the comments mishele. What is RoT? I actually cropped something out of the left which is why it is composed as is. I was not sure if that would work or not.

Thanks Tirediron. Monochrome conversion is something I have to learn how to do better. I am using Aperture 3 as my sole editing software. I understand this is not the best software to use for major edits though. Is Photoshop my only other option or is there something else I can look at?

^^^ Yes! I was just going to say that I rather see the empty space on the left side than right.
Also, being it a portrait I really wish her face was sharp as it seems the focus might have landed on her chest than the face

MohaimenK, I doubt I could ever get this shot again. I love this one for the look of seriousness on her face. Normally she is a goofball so getting her to have that serious concentration look is 1 in a million.
