My first critique-be gentle

I have been taking pictures of lightning with my canon S30 for a while now. Here is my favorite.

Thanks. Lightning season is a few months away. I hope to have a 30D by then. If anyone has any suggestions to improve.....fire away. Or tell me what you like. I love taking pictures but need to take a class.

How do u get such a great lightning picture? The lightning around here lasts about 1/10 of a second.

...which would suggest that you use a shutter speed faster than 1/10 of a second.

I live in Tucson, AZ. We have good shows here. I have a lot of pictures of lightning. This is my favorite but not the favorite of all. This was a 15 second exposure.
I would love to have some published (if they are good enough) but don't know where to go.

This is a bit "too thin a request" for critique to keep having this photo in Photo Critique, sorry. I had to move it to the Landscape and Nature Gallery. Photo Critique is a very special forum, more_info_here .

To say that this is your favourite photo also takes away any chances to seriously critique a photo, since it has been made clear beforehand that the poster considers this among his/her best so far. How can others still be objective?

(Just some general food for thought for all those who plan to post pics in Photo Critique)

It is a well-done photo of multiple lightning of what looks like a massive thunderstorm, and for who has never ever in all her life managed to capture lightning, this one is, of course, awesome. The big fat signature in the right bottom distracts HEAPS from the photo, though. And I do appreciate your link to a higher res version, since compression has wreaked havoc with this downsized pic. Too bad, eh?

Thanks for the feed back. I see you point about calling it my favorite. I did it only because I have quit a few pics of lightning and thought people would get sick of me posting them all. I am very new to photography so feel free to be brutal when critiquing me.
I do need to find another host for my pictures. Is there one better than others?
