MY FIRST MOON SHOT!!!! LoL, I cant wait to see where this goes. Warning!

Ok..........Yes I'm afraid it's the moon alright.
The over exposed moon. I just wanted to do something different with the typical run of the mill " I shot the moon tonight!".
Just playing around in bulb mode. This isn't my first moon shot either.
It is, however, the first time I shot the moon like this.

yeah, but it doesn't say "Moon". It could also be the sun, or a bright streetlight. At present it's a silhouette of tree branches against a backdrop of a bright object. Now, if you had exposed the moon through the branches, and managed to retain both the detail in the Moon, and enougth detail in the sky to create the branch silhouettes, then yes, I'd say you really achieved a different look. Certainly it is more interesting that just another "full Moon" image. But it needs more to make it really interesting.

I agree.
Though if one exposes for the moons detail, the branches certainly would not be seen.
They would be blacked out completely ( under exposed to the point of blackness), unless you have a couple running through the foreground of the moons image.
To get the full detail of a bright full moon requires a fairly quick shutter. I'm sure you already know this.
Unless there's some kind of filter out there. Or maybe a really big flash from ground level , up the tress.
There's always photoshop.

I thought it was a neat shot because the cloud banks and light fog is what's making the colors.
Just doing something a bit different. It was hard as hell getting that in focus too. Auto focus doesn't work real well at night on tree branches. lol
