My First Photo Contest

I just entered a Photo contest with our local newspaper and the voting ends at midnight on August 30. I know I could have improved my photo with better framing or at least a bit of editting and cropping (my wife posted it without any editting), but if you think it is the best shot, I would appreciate your vote and your feedback. Funny thing about people asking for votes for a specific person, we always vote for the best photograph regardless of who submitted it.

Welcome to TPF - as was mentioned, solicitations for votes rarely meet with much success here, since as a community of photographers, we cast a fairly critical eye over work. Personally I wouldn't vote for a picture my mother took if I didn't think it was the best one. That aside, hopefully you'll be back to share some of your work with the community here.
