Hello everyone,

I'm new on this forum and I'm a beginner in photography.

There are four of my photos.

Are they good ?

Sorry for my English, I'm French.

Anyone ?

Try numbering them, and also asking for specific feed back if you can or if you just want general feedback. I like the textures in the first two. The second seems blown out on the highlights and I think needs a tighter crop to get rid of that board. Number 3 is lacking in color but maybe that is what you were going for?

Welcome! Don't be in too much of a rush, especially on weekend, things tend to move a little more slowly. They're nice enough shots; a few technical issues: #1 is significantly under-exposed, #2 would be better (I think) from a more vertical perspective to see the texture more clearly, #3, well, it's a flower; note the blown highlights on the bloom. #4 has potential; but I think maybe from a different location? The concrete structure right foreground with the 'Danger' sign takes away from the image IMO. Keep shooting, keep practicing, keep reading and keep posting!

Welcome to the forum!

#1 is there a history behind that wall? That b&w conversion make it very vintage, old b&w photo. If there's a history with that subject, that B&W would work.

#2 Taking too close to the subject which cause most of the photo out of focus. Good idea though.

#3 watch out for sun shining directly on the flower, it'll make it look blown out/too bright like top left of the flower. take a few step to the right and snap a shot because that angle, the space on the right is what we call dead space and should not be included in the Photo cause it has no purpose. When taking photo of flowers, you want the main focus on that flower.

#4 the tree branches poking out on the left and right is distracting, just like the Danger stone on the right. The main focus is the bridge, and you want it to be the focal point and not much in the way unless it makes the photo more dramatic or adds to the photo. You would want to include the sky as well.

That's just my opinion, there will be others that will help. Keep shooting!

Welcome to the forum! But give it some time for people to reply. Off the bat, I already know one. Number the photos so we don't go "Oh that 3rd one, the one with the flower." hot tip coming from one newbie to another. Haha But lets get onto the photos.

#1. Noticeable noise, and lots of it, what were your settings for that one? Something seems off, I don't know what it is, one of the vets will tell you.
#2. I actually like this one, but maybe try to find a better spot to focus.
#3. Overexposed. Also, try to follow that Rule of Thirds, its a bit off. Maybe get closer, the stems are kind of distracting.
#4. Try a different angle/composition, the danger portion doesn't look right. The bridge is distracting.

Now, I'm pretty new at this too and hopefully one of the vets can provide better insight that we both can benefit from. :) Happy Shooting!

First, thanks to you for all your feedbacks.

"#1. Noticeable noise, and lots of it, what were your settings for that one? Something seems off, I don't know what it is, one of the vets will tell you."
-> I was shooting with 3200 ISO by night, with a small (period) (aperture?), i doesn't know the english term.

"#1 is there a history behind that wall? That b&w conversion make it very vintage, old b&w photo. If there's a history with that subject, that B&W would work."
-> No really, I just find it interesting.

"#1 is significantly under-exposed"
-> I shot it at night.
"#2 Taking too close to the subject which cause most of the photo out of focus. Good idea though."
"#2. I actually like this one, but maybe try to find a better spot to focus."
-> I should have take a higher depht of field ?

"#2 would be better (I think) from a more vertical perspective to see the texture more clearly"
-> I don't understand what you mean, vertical perspective ?

"#3 seems blown out on the highlights and I think needs a tighter crop to get rid of that board."
"#3 watch out for sun shining directly on the flower, it'll make it look blown out/too bright like top left of the flower. take a few step to the right and snap a shot because that angle, the space on the right is what we call dead space and should not be included in the Photo cause it has no purpose. When taking photo of flowers, you want the main focus on that flower."
"#3. Overexposed. Also, try to follow that Rule of Thirds, its a bit off. Maybe get closer, the stems are kind of distracting. "
-> I've follow the Rule of Thirds no ? The flower is on the second horizontal line. But not on the vertical. I should crop the picture by the right.

"#4. Try a different angle/composition, the danger portion doesn't look right. The bridge is distracting. "
-> Maybe with a focus on the danger and a smaller depht of field ?

"#4 has potential; but I think maybe from a different location? The concrete structure right foreground with the 'Danger' sign takes away from the image IMO. "
"#4 the tree branches poking out on the left and right is distracting, just like the Danger stone on the right. The main focus is the bridge, and you want it to be the focal point and not much in the way unless it makes the photo more dramatic or adds to the photo. You would want to include the sky as well. "
-> Agree with the branches on the left and the right, but I can't take the picture from another place. The "Danger" stone was my main subject, i want the bridge to be in the background.

"#4 is lacking in color but maybe that is what you were going for?"
-> Not really, I will try to (sature?) it.

Again thanks for your feedbacks.

I would show others pictures I take :
