This is my first post on the people galery. I've been into wildlife up to now anyway. (sorry for the confusing post). Anyway, this is totally natural light on my back porch. d5100 18-55 kit lens, iso 800 32mm f/6.3.....1/60. PP with PS 5.5....Auto levels is about the only thing done.

Cute baby...but I am confused...is her name Anna, or Ema? As far as photographing babies of her age--a car seat is an excellent posing aid, especially when covered with a nice throw, wrap, or blanket...preferrably one that GRANDMA bought for the baby! The car seat keeps a young infant safe, confined, and upright during the stage of development when they tend to topple over and can not yet really sit up independently. In a professionally-equipped studio, there will be one or two purpose-built devices called a "baby poser' and a "baby posing table"... the latter of which is a foam-padded table with a depression and a high backrest, kind of like a small "throne", where an infant can be placed on a big throw, then placed in a corner or against the back-rest(depending on the baby's capabilities), sitting upright and leaned back just ever-so-slightly. For really YOUNG infants, like newborns, some of the ridiculous poses MWACs are doing are a lawsuit just waiting to happen.

Nothing wrong with photgraphing a baby in a car seat...but...it looks a LOT better with a decent fabric placed over it...
