I am so new I feel stupid asking this question but how did you get this lighting??? I haven't had any success at this, and would appreciate you're input.

np, thanks for the critique.

I had the camera on a tripod, with a hotshoe adapter for both my camera and flash. I had the flash set up about 45 degrees to my daughters right, out about 5ft. I had a big white posterboard about 3 feet in front of the flash, pointing back at my daughter. I had to play around with the distance between the flash and the poster board, so i took a bunch of test pics, until i found a place where the shot was lit up to my liking.

I dunno. The subject really doesn't match the setting/lighting. Plus the lighting is quite a bit funky, what were you using here?

Other than that, nice and sharp, and good "model".

am i the only who finds this kind of odd... thats a young girl, not a baby, and shes at least half naked.... i don't know about where you are all from, but where I'm from, thats illegal...

first off, my daughter runs around with no shirt on all the time when shes home..you will find this out when your child gets older..they hate clothes for a period of time in their lives. Its not illegal as its not pornographic or sexual in nature. I cropped to just below her shoulders for a sort of childish innocent look..as any parent would know kids love being not just shirtless, but naked. I'm not taking porn shots.

for you to imply that there is anything "weird" about this is insulting.

sorry to insult you, i just found it really odd... i'm entilted to my opinion... my wife was looking over my shoulder and right away said "thats weird" so clearly it wasnt just me that had the thought

shes 6 years old..still within the "i dont like clothes when im at home" age. my problem is not that you have your own opinion, but not only did you say it was weird, you pretty much said i was shooting porno with my daughter, by saying its illegal...go ahead and show these to any cop and ask them if they are child pornography. they are tasteful pictures of my beautiful daughter.

if you read anything else into that, you must be projecting your own pedophilia or something, as you are the only person to have ever mentioned that angle, and dozens of family members have seen them already. one of which being my father in law, a lawyer, and my best friend, a cop.

Dont take things to personally here on the forum its not worth it. There will be many people that will agree and disagree with a point of view. If these werent cropped the way they were I probably would see the point of view of the Chris. The shots are nice and you did a great job of catching her expressions. Also your a neighbor of mine almost :thumbup:

i know they arent porn... it just struck me as odd.. first, i thought she was older than 6 (she looks 9 or 10) which is why i found it odd... a 10 year old in front of a camera topless is weird to me (no matter where you crop it)

I would've then asked "Hey how old is she. . ." instead of immediately jumping to conclusions.
