My first snowy owl

[TJNY]

Close as I could get. The crows were harrassing this owl for some reason. Thanks for looking!

Because they're Crows.
Harassing other birds, especially bigger birds, seems to be their favorite activity.

Makes for an interesting photo; this is a Snowy Owl scene I haven't seen before, with all the crows around.

Always listen for the crows, it is a sure sign that there is a really cool bird in the area

I dislike crows, at 4:30am, when they are 'chatting' with each other! The owl is beautiful though.

Nice first snowy!

I went back down this evening and grabbed a few more. Turns out there is a pair in this particular location. I am going to have to upgrade my camera body soon. The highest iso my rebel has is 1600.
