This is a lighting test shot I took of one of my best friends, while he was assisting me on a shoot yesterday.

He's an amazing photographer and a pretty awesome human being.

He really, really does. I took some photos of him at a wedding we second shot together, and there is like... one bad one... because I timed it wrong and he was making a face. Photographing him is really easy.

So, what was your lighting? I'm really stupid on anything beyond a simple flash, but I'm going to guess just to the right of the camera.

No. I still hate this.

Lighting was in a studio on a cyc wall. So a big Octabank off to the right, which hit the wall to his left a little bit and bounced back the tiniest bit of light... as well as the fact that there is a HUGE. A$$. WINDOW. off to the left as well, which we exposed in, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER so slightly.

So what you're seeing is 90% from the studio flash... 10% from the window. :sillysmi:

Probably his most popular work, released in 1989 (which is why I'm ignoring that you don't know who he is because that makes me feel old!!) Just watch the video. Very sexy.
