First time shooting a car. Observations, tips and critique all welcome!

Very nice Trev, great location. A couple of VERY minor niggles: I like to see the front wheels cocked a bit toward the camera, and the reflection on the driver's door window is a bit strong, but it's a nice image.

Edit: I did use a CPL but I didn't pay attention to the reflection in the glass. Good call!

I would have gone with 'toward the camera', so that it looks like the car is coming toward you.

I don't mean much, not more than 10-15 degrees, just enough to give you the impression that it's coming toward you.

I put 165 miles on her today, break-in sucks. It's so hard not to lay into the throttle of the 6.4L engine.

*cry* ohh memories......we had a plum crazy purple one for several years, before we moved to the mountains. Once w e moved here, We scraped the bottom every time we had to drive down our road. Decided we weren't at a point in our lives where we could afford a car that sat in the garage. I cried (yes real tears) at the dealership when we traded her in. Oh, how I miss that car!

Easy fix and while this is technically an edit on your image and you can scream, it is really more of a learning tool for others who may not know how to use this simple trick. Using your quick select tool and the refine edge component (photoshop), isolate the area that needs to be less glaring, do a curves adjustment layer and leave the curve alone but change the blend mode to "multiply." I did feather the edge by clicking on the mask and using the feather edge tool by 4 pixels. This works equally well to lighten an area if you choose the blend mode, "Screen." You can also adjust the opacity of the layer mask or duplicate the area for more effect.

Sweet ride. I agree with tirediron, other than that a bit lower with the camera and a bit closer might use the perspective to make the front end look bigger and meaner.

Still a sweet shot though
