thinking of entering this one in local competitions, so if anyone could critique it and tell me whats wrong to improve on it i would much appreciate it!

Please excuse what may seem like brutality but, IMO, this is not contest material.
The image is underexposed and muddy. The skin surface shows some pimpling which is too obvious. There is little or no feeling of contact with the baby, the eyes are completely dark.

The background is very distracting and the crop is much too lose.

I don't care about the skin, but I have to agree with The Traveler on the exposure, contact, eyes, crop, background.
