My two boys......over edited?

Hi guys
I'm a totally novice and have just got my first camera, so I've just been playing around taking photos of my kids. I'm a bit addicted to editing - I love how you can totally change a photo. I think I might be getting a tad carried away though - How much is too much? Thoughts and comments very welcome! Sorry if I haven't uploaded these the right way - it's my first time and I had a hard time sussing it out.....

Yes, I would say there are over-edited. The skin tones are extremely unrealistic.

Thanks for your replies. I guess I know I have gone overboard, I am keen to know how to get that fine line of enhancing a photo whithout ruining it. Should probably read some books or do a course I guess.

2 is precious...they are a bit orange and saturated but you could easily fix that. I love the shallow DOF in 3 and number 4 has a lot of potential but I would have exposed more for his skin so that he really popped...and so that he didn't look as gray as the background ....even in a B&W conversion.

What gear do you have?

Thanks heaps for your feedback Amoment! I just have a Canon 550D with a basic lens kit. I can't believe how much there is to learn, and I really want to get into it, it's rather addictive (I could spend hours on this site alone!) a bit tricky with 2 littlies who take up so much of my time! Roll on their bedtime Tirediron - thanks for fixing my pics so they could be seen! Can I ask how you did that??

Not sure if you meant to do it, but you have "My Photos are NOT OK to edit" selected. If you change this, we can edit them and tell you how we did it
