My Very First Studio setting shot. Lighting okay?

Hey ya'll, i finally got the equipment to do indoor studio style shooting and im just looking for feedback on my first shot! its me and my GF.

It's very flat lighting meaning there is not one light stronger than the other. That creates a very flat look to faces and hides dimensions. It's a bit harsh on the girlfriend's lighter skin.

Also, you might want to consider moving them further away from the backdrop (if you have the room) and putting a third light on the backdrop to make it pure white. Right now the shadow to the right of the guy is kinda detracting from the clean high-key look you're going for.

yeah, i had very very limited room. I was in a room where 35mm was the furthest i can shoot to give you an idea. i tried the 3rd light but being so close to the wall it would just make a blown sploch in the middle.

yeah its actually sorta weird, the light to camera right was 1 1/2 stops less than one on left, i dunno how it turned out that way. same flash. and i tried to take the highlights out of her skin but maybe needa do it some more thanks for the comment.

tidying up the hair would make sense other than some girls like their hair like that xD

Female hands square to the lens is not flattering. Also, nipping off the fingertips and elbow is a photographer's mistake. The inter-weaving of fingers and his tie is distracting.

She lacks detail in 95% of her black top.

(His) football shoulders are less than desirable.

Her smile seems natural while his looks forced.

She has catchlights in the right eye at 11:00 and 1:00 and the left eye at 1:00, while he only has one in the right eye at 11:00 o'clock. Consistancy is a *****, ain't it?

lol, that was a lot to take in well im glad you mentioned allof that xD i wasnt behind the camera of this shot because i was in it so it was actually my brother who knows nothing about photography who shot it and its what i had. sucks when you dont have another photographer to shoot you pics, im just glad it was in focus. appreciate your CC
